Phalaenopsis sanderiana is a medium sized species with leaves up to 25 cm, but sometimes larger. They are dark green with heavy purple suffusion, which becomes stronger when exposed to brighter conditions. The flowers are very showy, albeit thin in texture. White, with a variable degree of pink on the petals and sepals. The callus and base of the lip yellow with red markings. They are borne on long, arching spikes that can carry many flowers.
Phalaenopsis sanderiana is endemic to the Philippines, and blooms in mid to late Summer, thus extending the flowering season of your Phalaenopsis collection.
