Phalaenopsis mannii 'Black'


This particular clone has larger, dark marks that nearly cover the petals and sepals of the flowers.

Phalaenopsis mannii is a medium to large sized plant. The pale green leaves can reach up to 37 cm, and often have very fine brown spotting towards the base. The arching inflorescences usually bear many fragrant flowers with yellow sepals and petals with dark brown spots and bars, the midlobe of the lip white, and a yellow column.

Phalaenopsis mannii grows in northeast India, Nepal, China, Assam, buthan, Vietnam, Sikkim and Myanmar at elevations of 500 to 1,400 meters.

Give a drier winter rest to initiate flowering on this species.

Plants provided as near flowering size in an 8 cm pot.
