Phalaenopsis and More

Phalaenopsis lobbii var vietnamensis

£16.00 (Sold out)

Phalaenopsis lobbii var vietnamensis differs from the type by producing a much longer inflorescence, although all former varieties of Phalaenopsis lobbii have now been reduced to synonyms of the type. For the purpose of noting the differences for interested growers, I choose to list these plants as var vietnamensis.

Phalaenopsis lobbii will produce 3 to 6 flowers which open sequentially on short, arching inflorescences. The 2 cm flowers are white with brown spotting around the base of the column, as well as having two broad chesnut-brown stripes on the midlobe of the lip.

Phalaenopsis lobbii grows in India, Buthan, Myanmar and Vietnam at elevations of 350 to 1,200 meters.

Plants provided as flowering size in a 6 cm pot.
