Phalaenopsis gibbosa

Phalaenopsis gibbosa is a small species belonging to subgenus Parishianae. This subgenus is characteristic for having decidious leaves in nature, although it is adviceable not to let them drop all their leaves under cultivation.

Phalaenopsis gibbosa produces many small flowers, white with pale green suffused edges, and brigth yellow swellings at the base of the column. The mid-lobe is white with two clear, large yellow spots. It is found in Laos and Vietnam in evergreen forests at elevations of up to 1,000 meters.

Plants provided as flowering size in a 6 cm pot.
