Phalaenopsis floresensis


Phalaenopsis floresensis is a medium sized species, with leaves growing to 25 cm. The inflorescences, which are shorter than the leaves, usually bear 2 to 3 creamy white flowers suffused with yellowish green towards the apices of the sepals, with the lateral sepals showing some pale brown transverse markings towards the base. The narrow midlobe of the lip is rose to pale pink, with a raised keel running the whole length of it, and a dense mat of trichomes on the apical half.

Phalaenopsis floresensis is endemic to the island of Flores.

Plants provided as nearly flowering size in an 8 cm pot.
