Epidendrum porpax

£12.99 (Sold out)

Epidendrum porpax is a charming, small epiphytic species that forms large mats with short cane-like stems and fleshy, distichous leaves. The terminal inflorescence is short and bears a solitary flower, large for the size of the plant, with green sepals and petals and a large red-purple lip in the shape of an upside down heart.

Epidendrum porpax has been separated from Epidendrum peperomia by Eric Hagsater, although it is not an accepted species by other authorities.

Epidendrum porpax ranges from Mexico through Central America all the way to northeast Venezuela and Colombia.

Plants provided as flowering size in an 8 cm pot.
